Mr. Sherlock Holmes

I just want to note that I did not use the similes nor most of these ideas in my essay. I did however think that the prompt would be fun to write when put into a poem, so I gave it a try!

Mr. Sherlock Holmes
From 221B
Oh how his story has affected me

I admire his intelligence
His deductions
His observations
His cognizance

Mysterious and mad
Stealthy and sad

As arrogant as an ape
As mad as a mongoose
As observative as an owl

The way he walks
Talks
Bestows a certain confidence in himself
I respect Sherlock Holmes

The way he acts
How he is so abstract
His articulate ways
I admire him

He can look at a font and recognize from whence it came
He can look at the cut of a blade and tell from whence it came
He can look at a portrait and tell of whom it is of

He can make someone feel so stupid
But at the same time leave them astonished

He takes pleasure in others failures
And takes pride in his success

He is a loyal man
A witty man
Full of mysteries

But despite all the minor flaws
He does have many horrahs
And under all that madness he does have a sense of sadness

Who is Sherlock Holmes?
The man behind the mystery?
The solver of the crimes?

He’s a person
He’s a criminal
He’s a mastermind

A genius
An inferrer
A deducer
He’s Mr. Sherlock Holmes
And his address is 221B Baker Street
